It’s been a crazy busy time around here………… not just here in my own little world – but everywhere!
As a business owner, the last quarter of the year is always crazy busy. There’s so much to do in that last quarter and we feel the pressure from everywhere and from all the “business coaches” out there.
This year, I was calm. I had a plan. But like all plans, things don’t always work out the way you want them too. Life gets in the way and THINGS happen!
So, let me tell you about the crazy, busy times around here!
In July, I knew I wanted to do for a year-end bookkeeping “special”. How’s that for planning????
And in August I hunkered down to get to work. And I:
- finalized my plans for a free challenge – the Handmade Business Bookkeeping 101 Challenge
- decided (after several years in the works) to add a membership to the mix of my offerings – introducing the Handmade Business Bookkeeping Academy
- designed the landing pages
- wrote the email series
- and all the other stuff
Then…..sh*t hit the fan!
In early November, Facebook/META first suspended and then totally removed/banned my personal profile that I’ve had since 2010.
I’ve been TRYING to fight their decision for a month and am getting nowhere! You can’t talk to a human, half of their “forms” don’t work.
It’s just been a totally stressful NIGHTMARE!
I can’t even begin to tell you how futile it is, as a person and a small business owner, to fight with try and get a large corporation like Facebook to change their mind by going through their joke of an appeal process!
I had planned on doing the Challenge in a Facebook group! That isn’t going to happen!
So, I’ve built my own dammed community!

I had planned on holding the Handmade Business Bookkeeping 101 Challenge in a private Facebook group. But that’s not going to happen now.
So, I needed to come up with an alternative. Zoom? YouTube? Microsoft Teams?
Maybe you’re wondering how I’ll manage without the Facebook platform??
It’s simple. I built my own community.

The Handmade Business Bookkeeping Community is the first of it’s kind, exclusive, private, NON-Facebook community for handmade, creative, and craft business owners.

From my point of view, the best thing about the “Community” is that I own and manage the domain, the software, the plugins, and the webinar platform.
I am not relying on the whims of a social media platform run by a large corporation.
