Your name, comment, website address, profile image or other information associated with the comment may be publicly visible after the comment is approved. Please do not include private or sensitive information in a public comment.

When you use a contact form created through the website’s page-building and form tools, the information you submit is delivered to The YarnyBookkeeper so that we can respond. A copy may also be stored temporarily by the website, email system, hosting provider, backup system or other service used to process the message.

Giveaways and promotions

When The YarnyBookkeeper offers a giveaway, contest or similar promotion, tools such as RafflePress may collect your name, email address, social-media handle, entry information and other details described on the entry form.

Information collected for a giveaway may be used to administer the promotion, confirm eligibility, contact winners, prevent fraudulent entries and meet legal or recordkeeping requirements. Marketing emails will be sent only when the entry form and applicable law allow them.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the website, certain information may be collected automatically by the website, hosting provider, security tools, analytics services and advertising technologies.

This information may include your IP address, approximate location, browser type, device type, operating system, referring website, pages viewed, links clicked, date and time of your visit, time spent on the website, error information and identifiers stored through cookies or similar technologies.

This technical information helps operate and protect the website, understand how visitors use it, identify problems, measure content and advertising performance and improve the visitor experience.

How information is used

The YarnyBookkeeper may use personal information to:

  • Deliver free resources, emails, products, courses and community access that you request.
  • Process payments, refunds and purchases and maintain related business records.
  • Respond to questions, comments and customer-support requests.
  • Send administrative messages, purchase confirmations, policy updates and security notices.
  • Send newsletters, educational content and promotional communications when you have subscribed or when otherwise permitted by law.
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, secure and improve the website and related services.
  • Measure website traffic, content performance, advertising and affiliate referrals.
  • Personalize content or advertising where permitted and based on your consent choices.
  • Detect spam, fraud, abuse, security threats and unauthorized activity.
  • Comply with tax, accounting, legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Establish, exercise or defend legal rights and enforce applicable agreements.

The YarnyBookkeeper does not sell lists of names or email addresses to unrelated companies for their own direct-marketing use.

Legal bases for processing

For visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or another location that requires a legal basis for processing, The YarnyBookkeeper may rely on one or more of the following grounds:

Consent may be used for marketing emails, optional cookies, personalized advertising and other activities for which you are asked to make a choice. You may withdraw consent at any time, although withdrawing consent does not make earlier processing unlawful.

Contractual necessity may be used when information is needed to process a purchase, deliver a product, provide course or community access, respond before entering into a transaction or fulfill an agreement with you.

Legitimate interests may be used to operate and improve the website, understand website usage, respond to inquiries, protect systems, prevent fraud and promote relevant products or content, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Legal obligations may require information to be retained or disclosed for tax reporting, accounting, fraud prevention, legal claims, court orders or other applicable requirements.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files or identifiers placed on or associated with your browser or device. The website may also use pixels, tags, scripts, local storage and similar technologies.

The website may use:

Essential cookies needed for website security, account access, shopping functions, consent preferences and basic operation.

Functional cookies that remember choices, maintain certain website features or support tools such as countdown timers and embedded content.

Analytics cookies that help measure traffic, page views, visitor activity and website performance.

Advertising and affiliate cookies that help measure advertising, attribute purchases or signups, create audiences, provide relevant advertisements or credit an affiliate referral.

The website uses WPConsent to provide cookie information and preference controls. You can accept or reject categories of non-essential cookies through the cookie banner or cookie-settings option available on the website. You may also delete or block cookies through your browser settings, although doing so may prevent some features from working properly.

Analytics and Google services

The website uses Google Analytics and Google Site Kit to understand website activity and manage certain Google services. The information processed may include device and browser data, online activity, referring pages, interactions, approximate location and cookie or device identifiers.

Google advertising tools may also be used for conversion measurement, advertising performance, audience creation, remarketing or personalized advertising, depending on the services and consent choices enabled. Google’s tag tools can adjust their behavior based on consent settings when consent mode is properly configured.

Pinterest tracking

The website uses the Pinterest tag and may display embedded Pinterest pins. Pinterest may receive information about visits, page activity and conversions so that advertising can be measured, audiences can be created and relevant advertisements may be displayed.

Depending on the settings enabled, Pinterest’s enhanced matching features may also process hashed information entered into certain website forms. You may control non-essential Pinterest tracking through the website’s cookie-preference tool where that option is available.

Advertising, affiliate links and targeted advertising

The website may use Google advertising tools and other advertising services to measure campaigns, display advertisements or reach people who have previously interacted with the website. These services may use cookies, pixels or similar technologies to collect online activity and device information.

The YarnyBookkeeper also participates in affiliate programs, including ShareASale. When you click an affiliate link, a tracking cookie or identifier may be used to record the referral and determine whether The YarnyBookkeeper earns a commission from a later purchase. Affiliate relationships will also be disclosed near the recommendation or link when appropriate.

The YarnyBookkeeper does not sell personal information in exchange for money. However, some privacy laws define certain advertising disclosures more broadly as a “sale,” “sharing” or processing for targeted advertising. Where applicable, you may use the website’s cookie controls to opt out of non-essential advertising technologies or contact us about the rights available in your location.

Embedded content and social-media features

Pages may contain YouTube videos, Pinterest pins, social-sharing buttons and other content supplied by third-party platforms. Embedded content may behave as though you visited the provider’s website directly and may allow that provider to collect technical information, use cookies or record your interaction with the content.

YouTube offers a privacy-enhanced embedding option that can reduce some cookie activity before a visitor interacts with a video. The website may also use consent controls to prevent or limit embedded content until you make a cookie choice.

When you click a social-sharing button or external social-media link, the receiving platform will process your information according to its own privacy policy and account settings.

Email subscriptions and tracking

Email subscriptions, free-resource delivery, newsletters and email automations are managed through MailerLite and/or Brevo. When you subscribe, your name, email address, signup source, interests, groups, tags and related subscription information may be stored and processed through that service.

Emails may contain tracking technology that reports whether a message was delivered or opened and whether a link was clicked. This information helps evaluate email performance, troubleshoot delivery problems and send content that is more relevant to subscriber interests.

You may unsubscribe from promotional email at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in the message. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary administrative emails concerning a purchase, account, course, security matter or active service.

Website hosting, security and backups

The website is hosted by NameHero. Hosting providers process technical data and store website files, databases, logs and other information needed to make the website available.

Wordfence is used to help detect malicious traffic, attempted logins and security threats. Akismet helps identify spam submitted through comments or forms. These services may process IP addresses, browser information, submitted content and other technical details needed to perform their security or anti-spam functions.

UpdraftPlus is used to create website backups. Backups may contain copies of website databases and files, including personal information stored in them, and may be retained in the backup location configured by The YarnyBookkeeper.

Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect the information under our control. No website, database, email system or online transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, so absolute security cannot be promised. The FTC recommends that businesses take stock of the information they hold, retain only what they need, protect it and dispose of it appropriately.

How information may be disclosed

Personal information may be disclosed to service providers that perform work on behalf of The YarnyBookkeeper, including providers of:

  • Website hosting, maintenance, security, anti-spam protection and backups.
  • Contact forms, consent management and website functionality.
  • Email delivery, subscription management and marketing automation.
  • Analytics, advertising, conversion tracking and affiliate attribution.
  • Payment processing, order management and course delivery.
  • Community hosting, giveaways and customer support.
  • Professional accounting, legal, technical or administrative services.

These providers receive only the information reasonably needed to perform their services and process it under their own agreements and privacy policies.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to a valid legal request, investigate fraud or security issues, protect rights and safety, enforce an agreement or handle a merger, sale, reorganization or transfer of some or all business assets.

Information may be disclosed in other circumstances when you direct or authorize the disclosure.

International processing and transfers

The YarnyBookkeeper is based in the United States, and many of its service providers operate in the United States or other countries. If you visit, subscribe or purchase from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries whose privacy laws differ from those in your location.

Where required, The YarnyBookkeeper and its service providers may use legally recognized safeguards for international transfers. EU data-protection requirements can continue to apply when covered personal information is transferred outside the EU, while UK law contains separate rules for restricted international transfers.

How long information is kept

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to operate the business, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements.

Email-subscription information may be retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to limited suppression records needed to honor your unsubscribe request. Purchase, payment and transaction records may be retained as required for tax, bookkeeping, fraud-prevention and legal purposes.

Comments may remain on the website for as long as the associated content remains published unless they are removed. Security logs and backups may be retained according to the settings and schedules of the hosting, security and backup systems.

When information is no longer reasonably required, it may be deleted, anonymized or securely disposed of, subject to technical limitations such as scheduled backup cycles.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have the right to request access to personal information, correct inaccurate information, request deletion, obtain a portable copy, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent or opt out of targeted advertising or certain disclosures.

You may also have the right to appeal a decision or submit a complaint to the data-protection authority in your country or region. These rights are not absolute, and some information may need to be retained to complete a transaction, maintain tax or business records, protect security, prevent fraud or comply with law.

To make a privacy request, email hello@yarnybookkeeper.com with the subject line Privacy Request. We may need to verify your identity before completing the request and will respond within the time required by applicable law.

Cookie choices may be managed through the website’s cookie-preference tool. Email preferences may be managed through the unsubscribe link in any promotional email.
