Do you use Canva?

Canva has a desktop app

Sharing is caring!

I love Canva.  Did you know that Canva has a desktop app?

Well, maybe you did.  I didn’t.  But sometimes it takes me awhile to get around to finding out “all the things”.  😳

About a year and a half ago, I splurged and paid for a Canva subscription (after using the free version for maybe a year).

We all need a great tool for making graphics for our blog posts, right?  Something that:

  • remembers our brand colors & fonts
  • let’s you create templates that you can use over and over again
  • gives you access to great graphics

Well, a couple of weeks ago, I discovered they have a desktop app….and I was so excited!  So, I downloaded it right away to my Windows 10 laptop.

Now of course, I expected it to be as smooth & responsive as the browser version or the app on my iPad.

Did you know that Canva has a desktop app?

Unfortunately, it’s not. There is a definite delay when I browse for an image – and in all honesty, it could be my internet.  Which is less than stellar many days.

The Canva desktop app was super easy to download, install and set up.

All the images that I had created in my web browser showed up within a few minutes.

Here’s why I was excited that Canva had a desktop app.

You see, I’m blind in one eye and spend A LOT of time in front of this computer or on my iPad.

Sometimes, when I’m tired and have multiple tabs in my browser open – or even multiple browsers open to do different things — I loose track of where I am and close the WRONG browser or tab right in the middle of something important!

Talk about annoying….and I won’t mention the string of cuss words that come spewing out of my mouth like water out of a faucet.

The bad things about being blind in one eye:

  • No depth perception
  • Horrible hand/eye coordination
  • and that poor one eye that can see….well it does the work of 2 and it gets super tired

But, I’m getting off track.

I was excited that Canva had a desktop app because it meant that I could work full screen on my laptop, minimize it when I needed to and that perhaps it would be a productivity booster for me.

But really, I’m not so impressed.

Does that mean that I no longer love Canva?  Nope, not at all.  It just means that I’m not thrilled with the desktop app.

Have you tried the Canva desktop app?  If so, what did you think?
